Don’t Passover these handy Android apps

Let me level with you. The available apps for Android concerning the Jewish festival of Passover pale in comparison to those on iOS. Let’s hope that changes in the future. In the meantime, there are still a few useful apps out there that can teach you what you need to know about Pesach, the Seder and other Jewish customs.

SoulCraft moves heaven and Earth to prove it still in beta

Even waving the beta banner, it’s pretty difficult to forgive Mobile Bits latest dual stick third person RPG, SoulCraft. It contains a multiplayer component that’s yet to be available, littered with bugs and and an onslaught of enemy A.I. that’s too sad to be comical. Yet I can definitely appreciate the effort in crafting an ambitious title that promises to deliver more features in the future. Finally stripping the THD title, the action RPG has finally been made available for non-Tegra devices. The question is: is it worth your time to try, or should you wait for the promised fully-fledged title?

Google’s Project Glass could be innovative enough to leap-frog Apple

The comparison between Android and iOS isn’t like comparing apples to apples, and the recent release of Instagram for Android reminds us of the stark differences between these two camps, at least as far as consumers are concerned. Instagram for Android has sparked an elitist debate on Twitter as iPhone users complained that the previously iOS-exclusive photo-sharing app had opened the floodgates. “I'm absolutely #outraged that Instagram is on Android now,” one Twitter user announced (whether in jest or seriousness, it’s hard to tell). “Now it's gonna be populated by people who are poor and can't afford an iPhone.”

Android App Video Review: Epic Defense – The Elements

Despite that, the concept is interesting and the game is free, so you might as well try it for yourself. The tower building mechanics in this game are like a simplified version of that found in GemCraft, the popular Flash game turned iOS game. You place basic, empty towers around the field, and then equip them with differently colored gems to change their properties. Those gems are red, blue, and yellow, or fire, ice, and lighting, respectively. Combining these with towers will turn them into entirely new towers, changing their effectiveness. All in all, this makes for 10 towers total--three focused on each element, and one balanced "holy" tower. Killing enough enemies will result in a new base tower being made available, and enemies drop all these gems and coins.
